Re: Could United be returning??
It’s not all rosy down the other side of the motorway though. JetBlue loads sub 30% since launching, according to our own GeorgeNTravels over on X. In the interests of balance, it's worth noting that JFK>EDI seat maps look pretty full for the latter half of next week (and looks to be sold out compl...

Re: Could United be returning??
While the answer to the OP's question is still no, I thought the article below was quite interesting and relevant to this topic. https://www.scotsman.com/news/transport/edinburgh-airport-secures-fourth-daily-flight-to-key-us-destination-as-it-boasts-becoming-scotlands-airport-4644355 Includes this i...

Re: Ronald Leitch appointed AGS COO
Does route development fall under the responsibility of the COO? I thought it was under the commercial team and CCO? Indeed. They’ll report to him. I'd be surprised if the route development team reported to the COO. More likely they report to Matt Hazlewood, Chief Commercial Officer. https://www.gl...

Re: CAA TRAFFIC STATISTICS - MAR 2024
Does that monthly growth support the claim to be 'Scotland's fastest growing airport" made at the recent Routes conference?

Re: Without the American golfers, 'we probably wouldn't be here'
A reminder of the volumes of American visitors coming to the west of Scotland and how important they are. I don't like to imagine how much negative impact on this market the lack of any direct scheduled flights to the USA is having. But there are "direct scheduled flights to the USA" serving Centra...

Re: Emirates
I wonder if it could make QR launch Glasgow also? EK biting into their territory, so QR come to get a bite of EK territory over here It's myopic to think of GLA and EDI as serving separate territories for these kind of flights. Central Scotland is one market for them. DL, UA and WS all consolidated...

Re: Emirates
In relation to the benefits or otherwise of direct competition, isn’t the risk for GLA that EK return to the airport where QR operates double daily, presumably on a A359 and competes directly with QR? This could mean EK sticking with a daily 388 from GLA. Bollocks .. gla was double daily with a ser...

Re: LM drop GLA-SOU
I think the playing field would be very different if GLA's management were as aggresive as EDI's. The same goes for your Ryanair point, we did get a Ryanair base and AGS failed to entertain them, so they left. Nothing will change until the airport is under proper management. In what way did AGS fai...

Re: Loganair Summer 2024 as of 24th April 2024
Doing my weekly check of flights, and as of 11th May, GLA-SOU showing as no seats on all days, has the EZY effect won again. Had a quick glance over the schedule, we don't seem to have a major impact as it seems the aircraft only did GLA-SOU Yep, first mention (that I saw anyway) was from SeanM ear...

Re: Air passenger tax
I can't imagine that this proposal will be implemented before the 2026 Holyrood elections. Whether or not it is after that depends on the makeup of that parliament. There's a reasonable chance therefore that this proposal goes nowhere.
