Re: RYANAIR

Ryanair UK only needs to be involved for domestic or non-EU flying. A base consisting of flights to EU destinations only can be done on the Irish AOC (or indeed Buzz or Malta Air if FR wanted). PIK is an example

Re: Ethiopian eyeing Scotland

Plus reading an old article online, Ethiopians JFK and Newark flights stop both directions at Lome in Africa. Just thinking/ hoping Ethiopian may have realised the potential for routing these daily services through GLA ( not EDI given how much competition is already there). That would be epic news....

Re: PIK

Unless some are away based, that means there’s 2 aircraft required on 4 days and 0 on 3. Very odd schedule as it stands. Not just PIK being operated in this manner - Ryanair's Zagreb base is only operating Fri-Mon this Winter as well (though they will be served by away based aircraft Tue-Thu) https...

Re: TUI Airways Summer 2023 as of 6th November 2021

Perhaps TUI will opt to fly from both airports They'd have to renegotiate with MLB first - "Under TUI's seven-year agreement with the Melbourne airport, Orlando Melbourne International Airport will be the only Florida airport other than Miami International Airport that TUI can fly into from 2022 to...

Re: AirFranceKLM

AF will just transfer any spare Orly slots to Transavia for European or North African short haul service (barring any forced divestures due to COVID relief funding). For Easyjet, Vueling etc, Orly slots will probably remain rather sought after. (I won't say valuable as I don't think they are ever tr...

Re: Ryanair possible base closures

Fair enough if that is your suggestion, and if TUI do that sort of operation to some extent in Belgium. However the predominant way TUI serve their Belgian regional airports is with nightstopping aircraft at the regional airports.

Re: Ryanair possible base closures

No TUI bases in ABZ and EDI, leaving GLA in situ with perhaps much more non based flying covering BFS too. Something I have mooted for years as it would concentrate operations in one airport serving many others. Just like TUI Germany and Belgium already do. Just looking into the Belgian operations....

Re: Easyjet Aircraft 6

I pulled BBC Scotland up about that over something, apparently they don't prefer Edinburgh over Glasgow, course you don't, you just prefer to send someone over 40 miles rather than 5 miles I've no experience of the BBC's coverage of EDI & GLA, but as a general point, if the BBC, or any other media ...
