Re: Ethiopian eyeing Scotland

Last time I was at Dublin there were 3 or 4 early morning 4.30-6.30 transatlantic departures by Ethiopian. Plus reading an old article online, Ethiopians JFK and Newark flights stop both directions at Lome in Africa. Just thinking/ hoping Ethiopian may have realised the potential for routing these d...

Re: Interesting Movements 2023

Have GLA got a plan in place, to house the main base for Icelandair, should Reykjavik be shut later this week by volcanic activity (which looks highly likely) similar to what happened in 2010?

Re: wizz air are back!!

Probably FR are getting much better rates than Wizz now they have 11 aircraft at EDI, economies of scale and clout. So FR operational costs on these duplicated routes lower.

Whereas, Wizz negotiating a good rate with GLA, means they can now offer same fares etc at a profit.

Re: Edinburgh

You guys have short memories. There is definitely a case for GLA - NY, at least daily ALL summer, although the loads are poor Jan- April money can be made with appropriate schedule. In 2019 at GLA you had US and DL daily 757’s. From EDI, 2 UA 757, DL 757, AA 757 ( may have changed from JFK to Philad...

Re: VS moving to EDI?

Has anyone actually tried finding details of the 2023 VS direct flight from EDI on the VS site? I tried all sorts of direct flight sort options and searched for July/August schedules from EDI etc 2 months ago. Their website is useless, it gives everything but these flights unless you know exact days...

Re: Air Transat

I flew out of EDI yesterday, 7 July, interestingly there was no “ daily” AC 787 in either direction. Anyone know what’s happened to it, have AC over stretched at EDI? Also looking at recent GLA Air Transat flights, disappointingly most have been A321 and not A330, even with the school holidays begin...

Re: PLAY

Frustrating to see Icelandair utilising the 767 on same days as Play flights, whilst a stunning ac to see at GLA, why don’t they upgrade their service every day to this ,instead of trying to kill off Play? In my mind it indicates FI could have been offering a much better service for GLA in the past.☹️

Re: EZY GLA-SOU

Who’s going to use those flights? What stupid timings, maybe Thursday eve down Sunday eve back! As per other comments, pish and a waist of time. You need more frequency for domestic services. This won’t be flying come 2024.

Re: GLA is down, but has more growth potential

Positive vibes from MR Cliffe, time will tell. Easy win, Edinburgh has now reached saturation point and it’s venture capitalist owners unlikely to invest the significant expenditure it now needs to expand. As a departing passenger from 12.00 to 16.00 on Thursday, the terminal is now chaotic as so ma...

Re: Could United be returning??

I’m not surprised UA going double daily. I flew back JFK -EDI DL arriving Monday 20 Feb. 24 first class full, 18 business full, 21 Premium full ( I estimate c70% of afore mentioned passengers American mainly tourists) . C 6 empty seats in economy, where the majority were Scots ( inc a lot of Glasweg...
