Spanair
I remember flying on one of their MD82’s I believe from Glasgow to Tenerife. A real bucket and spade route filled with stag parties, first time holiday away from the parents 18 year olds and wannabe be 21 again pax. Good times.

Re: Emirates
QR have responded to EK by dropping fares, but not by much. They remain more expensive which could suggest strong advanced bookings. £158 more expensive in economy for a round trip 5-12 Nov to their DOH hub - £752. EK to DUB - £594 on same dates. An introductory price from EK no doubt but will be in...

Re: Emirates
In relation to the benefits or otherwise of direct competition, isn’t the risk for GLA that EK return to the airport where QR operates double daily, presumably on a A359 and competes directly with QR? This could mean EK sticking with a daily 388 from GLA. Wow! Deadly accurate mate. You don't have t...

Failing to secure Jetblue was telling. Can’t blame that on engines or max aircraft.

Re: Air passenger tax
Just another anti aviation policy from the SNP/Green coalition. Sturgeon did her best to destroy the sector with political games during the pandemic. The Greens now control the SNP. Tax tax tax is their obsession. Bad for Scottish tourism, bad for the aviation sector and all the businesses that rel...

Re: New majority stakeholders at EGPH
The key for taking EDI to the next level is if real investment is made in the facilities. Plans are in place to significantly change/expand the terminal layout. This will cost significantly more than the current planned expenditure. It’s over to Blackrock/GIP and Vinci now to deliver. Although the a...

Re: Could United be returning??
The UA announcement is for new routes to Morocco and Medellin and Tokyo add on, starting very late S24 and early W24. Unlikely to be any more new routes to the UK for S24. Possible alterations for S24 could be frequency or aircraft changes from the two airports United operate from in the UK.
