Re: Bag drop GLA

Hi, I noticed that in another thread someone asking about TUI bag drop and I wanted to respond but the thread had been locked down for some reason, anyway TUI, Jet2 and easyJet all offer bag drop at the airport. TUI bag drop opens from 1600 to 2000 and easyJet/Jet2 open at 1630 to 2100. 1 hour of f...

Re: FR close BOD base

It’s suggested that there are also issues with FR on ABZ routes. I’ve never liked the FR operating model. I’ve always said cheap costs and somebody somewhere has to pick up the tab. It would appear that the FR modus operandi suggests airports should let them operate for little or no cost despite the...

Re: GLA and social media

Obviously the management are well aware of the lack of USA direct flights and are working on it constantly. Indeed Andy Cliffe said it himself. Sadly it’s not as easy as we would all want though. That’s what happens when you miss the boat. JetBlue would have been a natural for GLA . It’s good to se...

I can’t comment regards the GLA but the services from another Scottish airport have tour operator seats for holidays, namely, but not exclusively, TUI.

Re: Emirates

Sorry to read that but not surprised. This was strongly predicted before I retired with a Winter 24 start date.

The main surprise is a 350. Hopefully GLA won’t be too far behind but once again they’ve been pipped at the post.

Re: PIK

There’s a Global Airlines A380 heading into PIK just now from storage in Mojave via Montreal. I’d never heard of this airline. It turns out to be an English start up intending to fly a fleet of A380’s from LGW to New York and Los Angeles. What could possibly go wrong? Yes I read about this earlier....

Re: Your flights 2024

At last my August 50th anniversary flights all confirmed. GLA-LGW-AGP part mirroring my flight to the very day on 120874 on a British Caledonian Airways 1-11 from GLA-LGW. Back then my onward flight was LGW-NCL on DA106 on a Comet 4. This time the onward flight is southbound, not northbound, to AGP ...
