Good news and bad news then. What puzzles me is EK can add extra capacity on other UK routes despite this.

Or have they already missed the boat given QR increasing to winter double daily on A350s?

QR don’t serve GLA.

I’m perfectly well aware if that as you already well know. It doesn’t stop it being part of, a very large part, of the competition on Middle East departures.

It’s even more interesting that you don’t respond to the issue of Emirates being able to add capacity at other Uk airports yet cannot increase capacity at GLA.

That reasoning or excuse or whatever it is doesn’t wash with me. They’ll expand at GLA when the time is right for them as they will at their stations across the globe. The recent info about the strength of their GLA market bodes well IMO and that is factual with the competition in the markets.

As an ex airport worker I’m sure you know that Emirates (whom we are interested in here) are competing with about a dozen one-stop airlines offering services between Scotland and the destinations they serve and not just the one you chose to highlight.

EK have now added a 7th, yes 7th daily service to LHR with a 77W. The amount of services from London are impressive but it's another aircraft that can't be used for the 2nd GLA flight.

Given this is fast approaching has anyone heard anything further about it?

Tomorrow marks 20 years of EK service to GLA, water cannon salute perhaps?

I'd rather an announcement of the second flight coming back. If they are going to do it surely tomorrow makes the most sense.
