Per FR24 Carpatair A319 YR-ABB is positioning from EDI for parking
Most of these flights seem to be operating to EDI and then positioning across to GLA just to park. Given positioning flights are supposedly expensive, would it not have been more cost effective for them to just fly to GLA and then bus the pax across to Edinburgh?

It most certainly would be cheaper but it takes a proactive business development team to identify the date (not difficult!), the trip organiser and the operating airline - the biggest difficulty would be securing sufficient coaches (3 or 4 per aircraft - say 4 hours round trip)

The positioning flight costs will be built into the charter costs.

Even having a proactive business development team, if the charterer wants a specific destination and the airline can get slots there, then that’s where they will go.

Indeed. There’s not always a conspiracy at play. FWIW a couple of planes repositioned to PIK as well.

Regardless of where there are flying too it going to be a good game. My bets are on France kicking the sh.. out of us in the second half.
But I will still enjoy a few beers.
