I've no insider knowledge here but given the sheer amount of time those 787's have sat at PIK, I presumed the engines must be available by now, everyone else seems to have their replacements as well, and that the vagaries of 'power by the hour' contracts have kept them from being hung in order to save more money leaking from the precarious Norwegian balance sheet ? Maybe someone knows the situation for sure ?Pioneer wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 11:20 am Hanging on some engines and flying them out may not be straightforward. The problem with the RR engines has shortened their life on the wing so much that there is a shortage of serviceable engines. Also, the Prestwick 'fleet' is in the care of Chevron who have been whittling away at their manpower over the past year so there might also be a shortage of engineers to fit the engines.
