La Palma

Post by atuk »

Whilst this has never been a destination served from Scotland; the only U.K. departure points are Gatwick and Manchester it is popular with Dutch, German, Scandinavians and Swiss.

Today’s news report states that another two craters have blown on the erupting volcano sending more ash and lava into the atmosphere and across landscapes.

This has the potential to cause massive disruption to the winter flying programmes and also Canary Island cruises where Santa Cruz de LaPalma is a regular port of call. Another financial nail into TUI!

Here’s hoping this peters out soon: the most important thing is people are kept safe. There may be no bananas this winter... no, not joking. The island is a top supplier of bananas throughout Europe and beyond.
