KLM Go Airbus

Post by PiperOne »

AF/KL group has signed up for 100 A320Neo family aircraft, delivery starting in 2023. The order is a mix A20N and A21N (but not LR/XLR) and will be split between KL, HV and TO, replacing the current 737NG fleet. They have also taken options on a further 60 units, models to be decided later. This is a major shift for a dedicated Boeing operator, and follows a similar order from Qantas. KLM's order for E195-E2s will provide capacity for lighter routes operated by Cityhopper, while Air France will use A223s on lighter routes, but no commitments so far for Hop.

Air France will also take 4 A350-1000F freighters as part of this order, replacing their existing B777-200F fleet.

Qantas just announced a large Airbus NB order too. Boeing feeling the backlash methinks.

I think Boeing's quality control issues are causing some concern in airlines' boardrooms.
