Which part was deluded? Of course the fact that Wizz started Scottish ops at PIK has been overlooked but the rest is a very honest opinion of what the place is like.

On the other hand, PSA needs to be a GLA route.

It used to be. British Caledonian, Court Line, Monarch, British Midland, bmi then ditched!

TUI could make it work if they used either an E295 or Airbus 220 but sadly it’s Ryanair monopoly from PIK plus EDI.

That was my opinion, Yes Wizz started Scottish ops there that's fair.
However the airport is tired has hardly any flights and has 2 far busier better connected airports to the north.
Far better it concentrates on what its good at military, maintenance and cargo.

He thought Wizz would have been better switching back to PIK than GLA and they could do more routes because it would be cheaper.

1. He doesn’t know what deal Wizz got at GLA. We may have been cheaper but either way it was certainly a better overall business case.
2. If they had gone to PIK the market demand would have been handicapped compared to GLA.
3. Ryanair would have chased them like they did recently at Tirana.
4. There may be no medium term future for pax ops at PIK with buyers apparently circling.

He also said PIK had potential as a pax airport. It doesn’t.

GLA's Italian network is incredibly poor, especially when you consider the VFR connections in the west. PIK-PSA has been operated before, clearly there is a market for it from PIK specifically. I have used it several times in the mid 2000s.

Would much rather see GLA-PSA/BGY/CIA/VRN/VCE, most of which could be operated without a GLA base.

Sadly one of the occupants is well known to some of us on this forum. Wishing both a speedy recovery.
