Re: Interesting Movements 2024

How many times can you go to Disney? I went once on a free-day ticket about 30 years ago as part of a driving trip across Florida and that was more than enough. It was free because my sister’s friend was working a season at the Epcot Centre. Well, as you may remember from my trip reports, which I s...

Re: Interesting Movements 2024

They shouldn’t be rolling anything out for Virgin after their shift in loyalty. The move to east really paid off for them, given the 75% drop in passenger numbers. With decisions like that, it’s no surprise this airline has had only a few profitable quarters in its history. If that's the case (and ...

Re: Edinburgh

Just read a post on another rather popular airline forum claiming that there was some serious congestion issues at EDI today. 5 737s waiting on the taxiway for a stand at one point. One of Uniteds flights was also severely impacted waiting a reported 40 mins for a stand. As much as I applaud the me...

Re: VS moving to EDI?

I would hope as more aircraft come into the fleet they can return to a Friday/Saturday operation, for a full 14 nights, rather than the 13/17 they have just now with the W operation.

And as I typed this, the survey email came through...

Re: VS moving to EDI?

And FWIW, flights from EDI are on sale for next April...

With more a/c deliveries due, hopefully will see that happen rather truncating the schedules like this year.

Re: VS moving to EDI?

The pessimist in me remains doubtful, but Virgin can't be happy with the seemingly constant delays for operational reasons beyond their control.

Re: VS moving to EDI?

Obviously first weekend of the holidays, but Saturday's flight was 392, plus 3 babies. Without opening any cans of worms, the ontime inbound had a 20min+ wait for a stand, and then baggage / apparant staffing issues, led to a delay of 1hr 40 Last year's flights we were in Upper - was never sure if a...

Re: Edinburgh

Virgin Atlantic may be starting MCO in June next year but with an A350-1000 not a 330. Also TUI is operating four flights EDI-MLB June and July 2023; I thought this had been canned but not according toSimply Flying website and EDI. All in all then busy days ahead next summer with many wide bodies: ...

Re: Edinburgh

We flew out on the 2nd (You allow Edi trip reports Clive? ;) ) and it was pretty chaotic. The baggage belt failed, so it was moving one bag per time, for four or five bags, then stopped for five / ten minutes, and repeat. EDI staff came through, and stopped check-in for 50 minutes to clear a b...
