Re: PIK
Thanks FlyGLA. No new info about the proposed buyer or their plans for the site (which is what I’m interested in because I want it to succeed but for the new owners to close pax ops and for Ryanair to move those to GLA) but the article was more about the journalist highlighting how dumb and out of ...

Re: CWL gets £206m to boost passenger numbers
For that level of investment CWL should have landed a new base of some sort. Some piecemeal routes is pretty poor. They would be as well just building a new airport if they are going to sink that much money down the pan on the current one. CWL is very poorly situated, but its pretty strategic for Wa...

Re: PIK
If all Prestwick did was simple serve as a pit stop for Trump related business and the US Military at a profit for the Scottish tax payer then it would still serve a purpose for me despite the ethics of it all. It is an asset for Scotland and at this point the thought of it becoming a Taylor Wimpey ...

Re: PIK
Politicians will be happy that PIK is returning a £3m annual profit these days so won’t feel the need to meddle in the management of PIK. It’s down to GLA’s new owners to get Ryanair based at GLA. Whether that’s at the expense of the PIK ops or some of the EDI based aircraft, it has to happen if GL...

Re: AviAlliance & GLA: To do / wish lists
Two based FR op minimum by S26 for me, even if thats at the expense of PIK or EDI, don't care. GLA still goes neck and neck with EDI on virtually all sun routes, even with much lesser frequency and without the luxury of a large FR base. There is no way no one could tell me that 2/3 of that 11 based ...

Re: Jobs galore at AGS
Reckon it’s just business as usual until the new owners get the keys. Do we know when the new owners are expected to take over? Also, what are people's expectations regarding the timeline for positive developments, like route announcements? My tuppence worth; and it really is worth no more than tha...

Re: Glasgow Airport North America route importance flagged
I don't see any way GLA takes long haul business from EDI at this point. I wish it could, but I'm sorry I just don't see it, especially with the push towards pre-clearance. Also as far as new business we should have a chance, but the airlines have been acting like sheep for ten years instead of thin...

Re: Glasgow Airport North America route importance flagged
I am half expecting that like Norwegian Breeze go East when they first come into the UK flying from regional airports in and around BOS and NYC. Until the PIK terminal closes and the infrastructure to and from the airport improves GLA is stuck in purgatory. When that happens we will be back in the g...

Another route announcement which underlines the gulf in business relationship / contract offering . . . daily Milan Linate to XXX, total for Summer 25 now 11 flights a week to XXX split between Linate & Malpensa, GLA 0 (zero) Bergamo too surely with Ryanair? 3x daily some days Edinburgh to Milan is...

Re: Glasgow Airport is being treated unfairly by government, claims leader
I mean, in in the simplist sense, no matter how poorly managed GLA has been, it has suffered heavily from the PIK's passenger op being propped up by the state and then the likes of EDI getting a publicly funded rail link to its city centre whilst GLA has went without. That stuff is undeniable I woul...
