GLA used a growing Ryanair base as justification for their drop-off charge. Somehow we ended up with no Ryanair base and the drop-off charge remained.

Re: 1-11s,707s and DC-10s
Exactly. And without actually counting we all know that those secondary airports have few airlines compared to the dominant one in each area. Thanks for backing up my point for me. We should never have accepted that it’s all the one market because in doing so we sold GLA down the river. GLA shouldn...

Re: Why Edinburgh becoming 'Scotland's Airport' isn't wise
Edinburgh already abusing it's self-proclaimed position as Scotland's Airport.
It hasn't take them long to abuse their monopoly position. Imagine my surprise!

EDI: 35
GLA: 15
EK will take EDI to 36 and SunExpress will take GLA to 16
Shocking stats and in no way a true reflection of demand for air travel from central Scotland. AGS need to go!

Re: 1-11s,707s and DC-10s
Given that “it’s aw wan market BTW” it’s not really comparable as we have 3 airports splitting the prize. It was "aw wan market BTW” as you so eloquently put it, 10 years ago when GLA had 25+ airlines. It was "aw wan market BTW” when GLA was Scotland's busiest airport. Furthermore, GLA isn't the on...

Re: 1-11s,707s and DC-10s
Shame we only have 15 airlines operating from GLA nowadays. Aer Lingus BA Emirates KLM Ryanair Air Transat Corendon Icelandair Loganair TUI Balkan Bulgarian easyJet Jet2 Lufthansa Wizzair I think that’s it - pretty poor show IMHO Wow! Pretty brutal when you see it in black and white. You know there...

Re: New Routes thread
EZY's GLA schedule is a riot. I had to fly BRS-EDI a couple of weeks ago due to the first BRS-GLA flight not being until the afternoon. 0 flight in the AM then there are 5 flights in the PM.
