Re: AviAlliance sells 22% to Blackstone

Let's start a simple listing starting from 01 April 2025 (to exclude EDI-YUL) to track net route changes (ie + & - frequencies) and new routes secured under the three airports (GLA, EDI & PIK) . . . a simple speadsheet will do

Re: AviAlliance sells 22% to Blackstone

AGS has access to one of the most diversified airline mixes of any major UK airport, and the company’s recent capital improvements aimed at accommodating large aircraft pave the way for new routes and higher traffic growth. Sounds positive, although I'm not sure what the "capital improvements" they...

Re: WestJet

Iirc TS operated GLA-YUL 1x weekly for one summer back around 2015 and then dropped it, so that doesn't suggest great demand to Quebec. It's seems a very late announcement for a summer transatlatic route, so I wonder if it might be something AC have pulled out at very short notice to try to counter...

Re: WestJet

Let's see how this plays out this summer . . . . and more importantly into 2026

Central Scotland to Toronto in peak summer 2025 will have 25 flights a week - just watch the yields plummet!

Re: Global Airlines JFK

I don't think the COOs of American, Delta or United will be losing a minute's sleep over Global The story is already the lead on The Herald's website . . . just waiting on the comments! I trust GLA's management will not naively fall into a trap - those with longer memories will recall Highland Expre...

FlyGLA wrote: Tue Mar 18, 2025 12:16 pm WestJet has significantly reduced its Canada–USA capacity due to the current political situation and plans to redeploy aircraft to Europe. It's rather frustrating to see YYZ–Glasgow East increase to 11x weekly instead of relaunching YYZ–GLA.
Most likely tied into a multi-year, exclusive deal

Re: Our airports are “sh!t holes” on X

Don't subscribe to X so can't comment on posts But both GLA & EDI are run by private equity / pension funds to increase shareholder value and/or to manage tax efficient interest funding while PIK's limited passenger traffic survives in a 1960's building The recent changes in investors at both GLA & ...

Re: GLA and social media

Another blunder today

A Facebook plug for Loganair . . . Nearly time for your coastline summer! features the tail of ERJ135ER G-SAJB

One minor problem . . . G-SAJB was withdrawn from use and stored at Aberdeen on 20 January 2020 and was broken up on or around 24 September 2024
