4th January 1966 flew in G-ASJJ BAC111 of British United from Renfrew to Gatwick. If memory serves me correctly this was the first jet service from Renfrew. We were presented with a souvenir bottle opener to commemorate the first service. I was 20 years old and my parents thought I was off my head. ...

Flew with DanAir BAC-111's several times while at RAF KInloss on the Inverness-Heathrow route 1985-1990. They were well liked by the locals as BA had abandoned the route earlier.

G-ALPK DH89 Rapide. Prestwick Airshow 25/5/1960. 30 minute pleasure flight round Ayr Bay. I seem to recall it caused a KB50 to abort take off when the Rapide taxied out ahead of it onto the active runway as it started its take off roll.

Well said Clive. Its almost as if most airlines have given up on GLA and will concentrate all future operations at EDI. Sad times for this of us who have been around since day 1 at GLA.

I was on duty the day the Viscount crashed. Still recall the crew coming into the Met Office and saying he was just going off for a test flight. Didn't know it had crashed until later when off duty. Wasn't around for the overshoot but have a couple of pictures of it in the field. BEA staff hurriedly...
