Shocked and saddened to hear that. One of Scottish football’s good guys.

Although he'd been ill for some time now, I'm still stunned at his death. A true giant of Scottish football and a huge loss to the game. Thoughts are with his family and friends.

Think there is a memorial service a week on a Friday @ Glasgow Cathedral… Always remember 0 - 0 at Hampden St Mirren V Rangers, Ally Mc Coist in charge of Rangers & Gus Mc Pierson of Saints… Rangers went down to 9 men with St Mirren dominating the match against 10 men, they lost the plot with Rangers going to 9 & Gus lost for tactics… Then comes Walter running out of the stand and down to dug out … waves Mc Coist out of the way & reassembles a shocked Rangers team in seconds … minutes later Miller is down the line, scores, Rangers 1 St Mirren 0. That’ll be my lasting memory of him…. Wasn’t happy with the result, but the sight of the late great Walter Smith running down the passageway to ‘correct’ the situation was a sight to be remembered.
