I noticed that from Sunday's timetable change, TransPennine Express will increase the frequency of their Glasgow - Manchester Airport train services to once every two hours. Can anyone recall if they operated at that frequency before COVID, or is this a genuine increase in frequency (as opposed to a restoration of pre-COVID frequencies)?

Also noticed that the GLC-Liverpool service is restored to its pre-covid 3 times a day schedule.

Its still not the schedule they had before Covid. There was a later service from Glasgow and a service from Manchester to Glasgow around 7pm.
