A different type of trip

Not exactly a flying visit but a wee trip today to see what the Dunhill Cup golf event, which is held annually over St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns courses, had produced bizjetwise.

Starting in Glasgow my aim was to visit Dundee, Leuchars and Edinburgh by bus. So armed with my bus pass and having researched the various options I elected to visit the airports in that order with minimum time wasted waiting for the next bus.

Bizjet tally was 24 as follows:
Dundee - 6
Leuchars - 15
Edinburgh - 3

For those interested my bus routing was:
M9 Glasgow to Dundee bus station 1hr45mins
99 Dundee to Leuchars 20 mins
X24 Guardbridge to Halbeath 1hr10mins
747 Halbeath - Edinburgh airport 45mins
Air Edinburgh airport-Glasgow 45mins

I had a note of the Dundee biz which I saw clearly as the M9 service goes right past the airport. Otherwise I would have factored in the 15 minute each way return from Dundee bus station to the Botanic Gardens stop on Glamis Road. It's a short walk to the airport from there.

I left Glasgow at 09:10 and arrived back there at 17:30 and this included a 1 hour visit to St Andrews for lunch.

A relaxing day in beautiful weather.

Hope of use to someone.

A good day out, but not one for a wet day.
