Some time ago, seems like decades although it’s only a year ago, I posted an article on your first flight.

Looking back through my old logs and seeing the many types no longer in service here is a sample of some of mine.

02MAY82 G-AOYL BA Viscount on a Central Scotland Aviation Group charter
04OCT96 G-OBWD B11 British World substituting for a British Midland Fokker
11NOV97 VH-RMH 767-200 Ansett from SYD to BNE and VH-CZO 737-300 BNE-CNS. I have to say the worst inflight food ever only seconded by LTE. Remember that flight to PMI Piper One when we landed on 24L with the first six rows of pax almost catapulted to the bulkhead as we made the high speed exit for terminal B as it was was at that time.

20SEP98 G-BKYC BA LGW-GLA the outbound flight was on 737-400 G-DOCJ on 18SEP98.

Many flights on long departed Air UK 146 and 100 s, British Midland DC9, 737 series 300/400/500 Fokker 70 and 100. Jersey European 146 then BE Dash 8s, Embraer 145/135 of BA/BD, CRS of Lufthansa Cityline and SAS, Boeing 737-600s of FlyGlobespan and SAS, 737-100 D-ABEA of Lufthansa LHR-MUC on 11JUn78 and return on D-ABQI 727-200 on 18JUN78.

America West 757 (Phoenix Suns colour scheme) from LAS-PHX on11NOV95, United veterans 747-100 N157UA operating UA965 from IAD-SFO then 737-200 N9009U SFO-SEA-YVR operating UA1414 on 01NOV93.

Which aircraft and/or airlines bring back fond memories for you?

Straight off the top of my head the GAAEC trip on the Loganair Beech 18 G-ASUG. Supposedly its last flight but we all know how these things go.....

Then there was the Aeroflot 134 into Simferopol - go around on first attempt (looking out the window a fair chunk of the runway was closed reduced availability was on the cards) and the flare on the second attempt took forever - I will see your first 6 rows and raise you the entire cabin felt like they were going to end up in the first 2 rows. Another other thing about the 134 - the cabin lights slightly dimmed in unision with the anti cols flashing.

BEA Trident landing on 22 at LHR forever ago - just didn't feel like LHR all the way down.

I don’t know if it was a last flight, but this sticks I my mind.
Back in the 80s I was on a evening flight from GLA to LHR by BM. DC9
It taxis as normal to the end of the runway. At this point we were told the flight would have to divert to Luton.
I explained to the stewardess that it would be no use for me, and ask why we were not told in the terminal.
I was told this was a mistake we should have been told before we boarded. I asked the stewardess what plans were in place to return me or any other passengers back to GLA, as my connecting flight would have gone, and as I was on a time important trip the next flight would not be of any use to me.
I was given plenty of free drinks on the way down, and when we arrive in Luton I was told just to stay on board, as the aircraft was returning to GLA empty. So the return trip I was the only passenger with 3 Stewardess and plenty drink :D
