My first memory of GLA 747 activity was when those Iberia beauties came in, mid 80's. Up until then it had been trips to Prestwick to see Northwest Orient examples on the Boston route. Have enjoyed seeing them ever since, particularly the Korean 744 at Cop 26.
Even though they are becoming rare as hen's teeth now, I'm sure we'll see the odd one still. Am I correct in thinking the very first to GLA was a BOAC 741, early 70's either as actual visitor or a fly past ?

I’ve a photo somewhere of the El Al example which visited one winter in the 80’s. I think that would be one of my first memories of a 747 at GLA.

I think the first 'wheels on the ground' at GLA was G-AWNM on 10 May 1973 - a touch & go on a training sortie from PIK
I can recall seeing an earlier go around - G-AWNC?
