Nice collection of a type which became a regular from the early 70's until the BA Cargo operation with Arrow Air in 1995

I remember the Spantax and Aviaco examples in the early 80's doing holiday trips at the weekends.

Great memories. Remember many of these.

I may have mentioned this before but I flew in that Air Spain one (about 3rd from the end) to PMI when I was a 4 year old whipper snapper.

My family used to go running to our Bearsden back garden yelling “Air Spain!” after our trip on that, whenever we heard the deafening high pitch whine of it approaching. And believe me, you could hear it coming a mile away.

It may have been this early appreciation of passing aircraft which got me interested in aviation in the first place, all thanks to the Air Spain DC-8.

Remember the Scotland squad returning from Sweden on a Time Air DC8 in 1992 !
