Loganair Enthusiast Event

On the 29th of April, Loganair opened the hangar doors of their engineering base at Glasgow to Aviation Enthusiasts eager to get up-close to the Saab fleet one last time as their withdrawal during this summer season nears closer. Attendees made up to Enthusiasts and Employees past and present, made journeys spanning the U.K. and were treated to free roam of the hangar space to explore the aircraft.

Loganair’s charity partner, Children's Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) were also in attendance, providing awareness of their incredible work and raising funds through ticket sales and a raffle with the top prize being a very unique creation of the hangar staff - a coffee table fashioned from a retired Twin Otter wheel hub, including a plaque as to how many landings that wheel has carried out on the beach at Barra. The raffle proved to be a sell out with a host of Loganair memorabilia and merchandise up for grabs, not to mention free return flights on the Loganair network.

It was a lightning quick afternoon for all those in attendance, keen photographers getting to analyse the aircraft inside and out through the viewfinder plus an opportunity for everyone to interact with Loganair air crew and maintenance personnel who kindly volunteered their time to look after the group. The final fund-raising count for CHAS proved to be a commendable £1675.00. Loganair have commented that the positive response from all parties will hopefully make way for similar engagements in the future.

Brilliant, Stewart, and well done for putting that together and for the money raised.
