I was just checking flights to Dublin and could not believe they have reduced the midweek to one flight and it is the early morning one - what a shambles from Ryanair

Do you think FR are playing hardball with GLA if they’re not cutting them a deal?

GLA are in the 1 flight a day club though. Dublin normally one of GLA’s top performing routes - won’t be with this frequency.

Based on 12-21 November, completely random dates checked.

EDI has 2
NCL has 1
LPL has 2
LBA has 1
MAN and BHX have 3
BRS has 1

Not sure what to think but this is the sort of carry on Ryanair did at Prestwick (reducing the frequency of the Dublin flights to one per day and the early morning one at that) before they moved to Glasgow. I have been flying Ryanair to Dublin for over 25 years now (first Prestwick then Edinburgh when they reduced the frequency at Prestwick and then Glasgow)

That's the entire FR schedule for GLA on Tuesdays and Thursdays...

Are the DUB-UK reductions not because they are trying to punish DUB for not buttering their muffin?

I think the problem is that Dublin has an annual legal capacity cap which was put in place as part of the planning approval for the 2nd runway. It looks like Ryanair are reducing winter ops in order to protect their summer programme against breaching this limit.

Thanks. It’s always good to get sensible and knowledgeable contributions rather than the usual conspiracies and whodunits….

That is the most plausible reason, there are actually two caps in place. The first is the annual passenger numbers that relate to the 2007 planning application for the second terminal and the more recent cap on night-time flights relating to the second runway operation.
