GLA promoting the return of the route “today” which is good apart from the fact,

1. It’s Burgas not Bourgas
2. It resumes on Sunday and not today

In the fifty years since I’ve been involved in aviation I’ve known Bourgas (BOJ) as a charter destination. YesBurgas maybe the preferred spelling now but I think Burgas is the Anglified version.

Haven’t seen it yet on any flight schedules yet but it starts this month although from what I gather departure dates are all over the place.

It'll be interesting to see what appears, today's 8H flights to BOJ from the UK have been operated by European Air Charter (A320 LZ-LAC) and Bulgaria Air (A320 LZ-FBD)

Burgas isn't the preferred spelling, it is the spelling.

Somebody I know was born and lives there and says in the UK we make the mistake of putting an O in it.

Yes, like those who spell Majorca when the island is called Mallorca. And like the mug of a BBC reporter who quarrelled with a Ukrainian politician, trying to tell her that the BBC and therefor correct pronunciation of Kiev was something different than it actually is. Makes my blood boil insular we demonstrably are.

Problem is people see it spelt wrong once and just keep doing it. We really need to learn to spell places the way the locals do.

And the answer is European Air Charter. This is one of the oldest A320's still flying, being delivered new to Mexicana in March 1992.
