Re: May 2023 PAX Numbers
Thanks for the info George. Where does this year Jan-May sit when compared to 2019, the last 'normal' year before the pandemic?
I could look it up but just being lazy today.

Re: May 2023 PAX Numbers
Jan-May of 2019 was 3,254,500 pax
So down by 604,154 (roughly down by a full pre-covid March if that makes sense)

Pushing the 12m total back up over 7m (just), Domestic +12%, international +8%. On the Domestic side, strong London growth (LGW +18%, LHR +14%, STN +25%).GeorgeNTravels wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 5:42 pm 728,760 Pax in May (an increase of 11% on last year)

Internationally, CDG up 35%, more than replacing the lost Orly traffic. Double-digit increases on both our German routes as well. Mixed bag in Italy, with the loss of Venice and half the Naples traffic, however Bologna coming in as a new destination with BA Cityflyer and some growth in Rome offsetting. Mixed in Spain, with the loss of 7k Rangers fans who went to Jerez and Seville last year.
On longhaul, a 25% increase in Dubai, following the return of the A380, Halifax loss of 3k but a small increase in Toronto. and a 32% increase in Melbourne.
Re: May 2023 PAX Numbers
Pretty positive numbers across the board. I suppose it's to be expected with it being the holiday season.PiperOne wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2023 11:06 amPushing the 12m total back up over 7m (just), Domestic +12%, international +8%. What does that +25% increase look like in terms of LF for EK on the a380?

Re: May 2023 PAX Numbers
The numbers are versus the same period last year, mind, so it was (early) holiday season then too.Darren10 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2023 3:11 pmPretty positive numbers across the board. Re: May 2023 PAX Numbers
Interesting to see that of the routes that are operating both last year and this year only 11 of them were down and some by a tiny amount, with others being explained by growth elsewhere, breakdown below;PiperOne wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2023 11:06 amPushing the 12m total back up over 7m (just), Domestic +12%, international +8%.
