Could United be returning??
Re: Could United be returning??
You never know, There's every chance that they may announce MAN and GLA at the same time. The a321XLRs are the perfect fit for these sort of routes.
Re: Could United be returning??
UA not announcing any new routes until, at the earliest, August. SeanM was referring to multiple new routes that have a common theme, rather than UAL.

United seem to be releasing some new international routes today, I wonder if there’s anything in this for us?

The video was a reference to Indiana Jones as EWR-RAK is one of the routes and Morocco was used for filming. Interestingly, Glasgow was also a filming location...kmea wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 12:33 pmhttps://x.com/united/status/1765407354265202819?s=46

Re: Could United be returning??
The UA announcement is for new routes to Morocco and Medellin and Tokyo add on, starting very late S24 and early W24. Unlikely to be any more new routes to the UK for S24. Possible alterations for S24 could be frequency or aircraft changes from the two airports United operate from in the UK.
Re: Could United be returning??
I had meant S25 - forgot the usual winter announcements!
Honestly let’s not get our hopes up for UA re-adding GLA any time soon. It hurts less when it doesn’t happen (although more than happy to be proven wrong)
They’ll add IBZ/MAH/MRS/BOD/HER/CFU/MLA/CTA/PMO/PSA/ACE/FUE/LPA/FNC before even considering a return to GLA or MAN. It’s a disgrace!
I long held the belief that B6 were the best opportunity for GLA although they have gone to Turnhoose..

Re: Could United be returning??
Another issue as well is that UA is seriously behind where they thought they would be on aircraft deliveries, and issued new guidance for the next two years.
They expected 8 Boeing 787's this year, this has been revised to 7
They expected 43 Boeing 737 MAX 8 this year, this has been revised to 37
They expected 34 Boeing 737 MAX 9 this year, this has been revised to 19
They expected 80 Boeing 737 MAX 10 this year, this has been revised to 0
They expected 26 Airbus 321 NEO this year, this has been revised to 25
Meaning in 2024 they are 191 short of their contracted deliveries, and 39 less than they predicted last year.
Moving into 2025 deliveries are also impacted;
They expected 18 Boeing 787's in 2025, this remains the case
They expected 0 Boeing 737 MAX 8 in 2025, this has been revised to 6
They expected 0 Boeing 737 MAX 9 in 2025, this has been revised to 15
They expected 71 Boeing 737 MAX 10 in 2025, "Due to the delay in the certification of the 737 MAX 10 aircraft, we are unable to accurately forecast the expected delivery period."
They expected 38 Airbus 321 NEO in 2025, this has been revised to 24
They expected 8 Airbus 321 XLR in 2025, this has been revised to 1

Another 'Exclusive' (his words, not mine) by Brian Donnelly, The Herald's Business Correspondent today about United Airlines which is clearly been 'fed' to him by an airport's press team
