GLA-BRS//BRS-GLA

14 Aug GLA-BRS EZY208 ETD 1325
Proving GLA can be reached by public transport from Bearsden (and of course FREE for > 60!) we took #15 bus into Buchanan Street then #500 bus out to GLA. The queue for the other airport was zigzagging out of its allocated waiting area although I suspect that was pertly due to a delay with an inbound service. Only a handful on board #500 as we left Buchanan Street but it filled up at the next three stops, clearly Emirates, Icelandair & Lufthansa passengers.

Having allowed plenty of time for public transport we ate at The Caledonia - excellent food and service.

Inbound flight arrived early from BRS so we boarded early but were slot constrained - A320 G-EZTD, A320 #76 in the log book.

18 Aug BRS-GLA EZY406 ETD 1810
Looking at FR24 in the morning our return flight was planned for GLA based A320 G-EZPX which had arrived early into Barcelona on its first sector but then spent nearly two hours on the ground before the return leg so arrived back at GLA an hour late. The next return sector to/from BFS was also delayed so the aircraft was running 90 minutes late - I received an email from EZY at 1535 advising this delay just as 'PX taxied for departure to BFS. However not long after that FR24 was showing an aircraft change to A320NEO G-UZLX which was running 80 minutes late to its schedule but a further 35 minutes behind 'PX into GLA. A 90 minutes turnaround at GLA pushed the delay up to two and a half hours - ETA 1810 at GLA outturned at ATA 2146. The aircraft & crew still had the delayed GLA-BFS-GLA sectors to operate.

After boarding the cabin manager announced that as we were over two hours late they would be offering a free soft drink and snack from Page 10 ie Kit Kat etc . . . . . by the time he got to Row 14 they only had Diet Coke or Water and Popcorn (from Page 11!) so we survived on our bottled water.

easyJet flight number #50 (B737, A319 & A320) although one was operated by Titan Airways G-POWI, A320 #77 in the log book on 111 flights.

However, bear a thought for the TUI passengers heading from BRS to Larnaca - the screens were showing 'More Information at 1900' but FR24 was showing an ETD for B38M G-TUMN of 1500 the following day. It was nearly an hour after I noticed the FR24 update when the announcement came for passengers to go to Gate 1 where gate agents will offer assistance . . . the flight left BRS at 1731.

Apparently all lavs on that flight on Saturday just gone were U/S according to a FB post I saw at the weekend - and they planned to operate it. Then was delayed in order for an engineer to fix, would they seriously operate a flight with all lavs out of service?

I know not to believe everything that’s posted on FB, btw

All the lavs were working fine, we made it to LCA without a Plumbing stop 😊
