Given that only Prestwick and Glasgow can currently accept or accommodate 388’s, could this be the realistic hope of GLA securing a new US route in the near future? Highly unlikely to be Prestwick for various reasons.

Not a chance ... can't attract a basic single aisle service to the airport over the pond, so a A380 would be pie in the sky .. and I bet you airline doesn't even get off the ground .
