I saw an article which included comments from a passenger booked on Saturday’s GLA-AYT. They had travelled to GLA from Liverpool to catch the flight. After delays, the passengers were all called to the gate to be told their entire package holidays were cancelled. Apparently TUI offered a night in a hotel due to the distance they’d travelled but they were then left on the floor for two hours so just drove home in the end.

This one is odd as the aircraft arrived back at GLA shortly before the scheduled AYT departure time. I assume it was some sort of crewing issue. It would appear they have next to no standby crew available - flights are being boarded then unloaded as they wouldn’t get there without the crew going out of hours.

The headline writers need to get 'Chaos' in . . . . only TUI to Alicante & Palma got an FR24 'Red Dot' up to around 0900 local

EZY outbound to BFS suffered a bird strike so delays to Alicante & Jersey after having cancelled first Stansted yesterday

Seems TUI are having issues with the Sunwing aircraft at ABZ again. Was due to do ABZ-DLM-GLA-DLM-ABZ today, and looking at FR24 it doesn’t seem to have left Aberdeen this morning. Looks like another Sunwing aircraft came up from CWL to operate the GLA-DLM flight.

A smartlynx A320 that was flying for Easyjet positioned from Porto to Aberdeen to operate the ABZ-DLM, 12 hour delay

I’m hoping we get away ok to PMI this month.

C-FWGH did indeed position up from Cardiff landing at 1623

It has just departed at 2242 . . . heading back to Cardiff as TOM806 (crew change?) as the same crew would struggle to operate CWL-GLA-DLM-GLA, and certainly not with over 6 hours on the ground at GLA!

The return looks like a 24 hour delay showing as ex DLM 1530 (scheduled for 1425 today) while ABZ ex DLM scheduled at 0125 is just showing 'Delayed'

I suspect the Smartlynx/EasyJet aircraft will operate an inbound (either to ABZ or GLA) and the GLA outbound may just be completely cancelled as is now happening regularly with TUI.

The Sunwing aircraft positioning CWL-GLA and then GLA-CWL looks like some sort of organisational failure (and waste of time and money) as the aircraft will be needed at CWL on Friday so surely won’t be operating the DLM flights.

I assume it must have had a rare free afternoon at CWL so they positioned it up to operate GLA-DLM-GLA but something went wrong and they’ve abandoned it. I guess we’ll see if anything happens.

The pressures are really showing this summer. The Sunwing disruption is of course no surprise but normally TUI would jump in (reasonably) quickly with one of their own aircraft. They simply aren’t managing to do that at all this year.

From GLA Twitter for the Dalaman flight.

Hi Jim, Apologies for the delay in replying, we were waiting to see if this flight was going ahead. Unfortunately it has been cancelled. Please contact the airline for any further information. Denise

Dalaman now operating outbound at 17:30 with Tui's own 738 G-FDZY, which is positioning up from Doncaster. The inbound is operated by EasyJet/Smartlynx A320, ETA 18:50.

Easyjet's turn to suffer today, Faro cancelled completely, and delays of 1-2 hours on the rest of the programme. Their bag drop wasn't coping at all well earlier on, with the queue twice stretching past domestic arrivals.
