Imagine that, the comments in the Herald and the Scotsman amount to nothing.

If anything summed up the tenure of AGS then the last 24 hours say it all. A hike in parking charges under the laughable guise of restoring connectivity - which the airport have tried to sweep under the rug and has only become known due to press articles and this "announcement" from Ryanair. If this mob were running a football club they'd have been hunted long ago.

The whole place is just depressing. Terminal looks the same as it did in the 80s. Empty concourses with Thomas Cook and Wizzair signage still visible.

The 500 bus reeks of spend as little as possible whilst EDI sends luxury coaches to and from Buchanan Street.

The sad thing is I don't even think we've even reached rock bottom yet.

I hope and pray that you are so wrong with that last sentence...but I suspect you may be bang on the money. Can't argue with the rest of your post either tbh.

My outlook under the current regime is as pessimistic as it could possibly be.

If the North American carriers can eventually shift east then there is nothing I think that will prevent Emirates from acting the same way in the next 5-10 years.

Surprised Icelandair are still hanging in there.

Will the airport ever disappear? I doubt it, but GLA's future as long as Ferrovial/Macquarie are in charge is bleak long term. It'll be a low priority cash cow. Some hub service to LHR, DUB, AMS and then some rUK/IRE service and a few flights to the Med. That'll be it IMO. Little from the LCCs, across the pond or in the way of connectivity to major cities on the continent.

The only slither of positivity for me is the new CEO's background is running a peer airport like EMA and I spose he can't do any worse than what went before him.
