Hello folks, long time lurker, first time poster.
I’m fascinated with the way the airport terminal has evolved over time, older pics though seem to be of its form when it initially opened to early 80s where it features in that ‘day in the life video’ I’m sure many of you have seen on YouTube. Hence do any of you have any pics/videos from lates 80 to early 00s? This period seems more of a black spot online.
I’m 23 so have some very vague memories of its layout pre-Skyhub, fragments that stand out in my mind are the bridge over the departure desks still in use, one of those cars on display you could win and I want to say a McDonald’s?
Would love to see any that people have got, cheers.

I’ve got loads of photos from the early 90’s when the east pier was packed with the newly landed Transatlantic jets and of the west pier area before the pier was built - they made remote stands there initially - but sadly they are old fashioned prints and buried somewhere in my attic. Be good to see if anyone can come up with the goods.
Some of the older guys will remember there used to be a fire exit stair at what used to be the west end of the terminal where you could go out to see the Tridents on the domestic pier and the ABC Merchantman that used to reside near the staff car park which are now the west side of apron M and the west pier. Apron N used to be mostly landside with 2 GA hangars.
