Yes, wait until the opening day of a global climate conference to announce more flights to/from said city. :D

Did he? The live feed is here (https://news.sky.com/watch-live) and he appeared about 90 minutes ago.

The interview I heard went like this:

Interviewer: "Rishi Sunak cut Air Passenger Duty last week for domestic flights, how much of a fillip is that going to be for you?"
MOL: "I think it's welcome I mean it's not huge to us we're not that large in UK domestic we have some domestic flights between Glasgow and Edinburgh to London we would like to see that [the cut] extended to European short-haul..."

I don't think he was saying "he wants to start flights from Glasgow to London" at all. I think he just mistakenly mentioned routes that they no longer operate. Anyway, folks can form their own view but this is an interesting example of how fake news can come about.
I agree, I think he just made a genuine mistake.

Think he’s been misquoted and maybe he does wish to have flights between Scotland & London, but that’s not what he’s said. Disagree that he’s full of hot air… He is CEO of Europe’s biggest airline & has been for many, many years through thick n thin his out spoken voice and business model has won the day… I don’t know him, like or dislike, but he runs a very successful operation. I’m terms of environmental issues and him to blame ??? If FR weren’t flying the routes… someone or some others would. Like another outspoken business leader … (Mr Dewar) has shown his louder than loud at times method of demonstrating his business is way more successful than the squeak, squeak approach of his competitors. Like them or loath them … Who shouts loudest….

I've always viewed MoL as a man who knows the right thing to say to maximise media attention and say things to force airports into complying with his demands. I think he made a fair point when talking about Ryanair's carbon footprint. The max will help minimise the impact 4% more passengers and 16% less fuel burnt, but I don't think he has an interest in the UK domestic market currently, after all there is only 1 domestic route from Manchester to Derry/Londonderry.
