Yet again another airline that rather than spread the flights into an empty market decides to fire them into one with buckets of competition. If as the argument goes GLA and EDI are the same market then surely GLA should be going at UA full tilt?

I’m not surprised UA going double daily. I flew back JFK -EDI DL arriving Monday 20 Feb. 24 first class full, 18 business full, 21 Premium full ( I estimate c70% of afore mentioned passengers American mainly tourists) . C 6 empty seats in economy, where the majority were Scots ( inc a lot of Glaswegians and myself)!

Going out EDI-JFK Monday 6 Feb c16 first, c12 business, 21 Premium Full. Economy 60% full. Very impressive figures for a 767-300 operation in February.

DL don't operate First Class to EDI.

The only airline offering First Class to Scotland is EK DXB-GLA.

Oh, and we're now in March btw ;)

New owners, new management, new thoughts, good marketing, imaginative incentives & some basic common sense needed 1st, I’d have thought. Team EDI done it big style … So it’s do’able alright… Thankfully times & people change.

I have dropped an e-mail to Glasgow Chamber of Commerce - see Key Project #2

https://www.glasgowchamberofcommerce.co ... -projects/

I took the opportunity to highlight that the second rotation through EDI is using the old GLA flight numbers

A lot of aggressive advertising for EDI Air Canada plastered across buses at Buchanan Street today.

You could probably argue that Edinburgh Airport has a more visible presence than Glasgow Airport in Glasgow.

I’ve said this for years regarding airport and airline advertising.
