Glasgow-Cork Resumes
Re: Glasgow-Cork Resumes
I’m not sure I understand the logic. Newark would also be a route resumption, and CDG is already being served. All new and even existing routes should get maximum noise, IMO.

Re: Glasgow-Cork Resumes
Newark would be one to shout about on every platform, Cork is not IMO. I was referring to AF to CDG. It's just a sorry state of affairs when the only noise being made with regards to new routes is a resumption of a route to Ireland was my point.
Re: Glasgow-Cork Resumes
Should we e-mail Emerald Airways and tell them to no bother starting the route?
Re: Glasgow-Cork Resumes
Certainly. Please inform all other airlines as well that GLA is not accepting new routes until New York is reinstated.
United and EWR are not returning and in 10 years time GLA's only long haul service will be summer-season TUI flights.
Re: Glasgow-Cork Resumes
Can we quote you on that? Jesus, we may as well hand back the keys and tell everyone it's closed.... yeah things aren't great at the moment with regards destinations but who knows what's going to happen..... glass half full here (something strong, please)

Yes, you can. It’s not hard to believe, is it? The US3 are now well-established at EDI, and JetBlue has joined them. WestJet and Air Canada have also shifted east. Emirates has already cut back one of its two daily flights from GLA to launch a service at EDI, and EK is likely to follow the same path as CO/UA.
GLA’s future should focus on low-cost flights to Europe, as the days of transatlantic routes are over.
Re: Glasgow-Cork Resumes
They haven’t even been able to get a handle on loco to Europe, all that’s also gone to EDI.FlyGLA wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 1:08 pmYes, you can. It’s not hard to believe, is it? Utter disgrace for Scotland’s biggest city.
Re: Glasgow-Cork Resumes
That’s inaccurate. If you check the schedules we have a number of loco flights to Europe.egpffqtv wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 1:30 pmThey haven’t even been able to get a handle on loco to Europe, all that’s also gone to EDI.FlyGLA wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 1:08 pmYes, you can. But yes of course GLA’s media dept should be publicising all new routes. Indeed they are probably contractually obliged to do so.

Back on topic, Cork will be operated by Belfast Aircraft, schedule updated in due course, thanks to george for the update on that
