It may not all be bad news for GLA. Brace yourselves for some base closures, for obvious reasons I can’t say more than that.

Their EDI base is closing by all accounts.

It’s about 350 seasonal staff who are being considered because there is no work and the furlough scheme is being run down. Those staff would have been leaving around 1 November. The EDI base previously had a hard job retaining cabin crew so it seems those they have got are on permanent contracts. That would explain it. Still be reduced flying though.

They are now forced to anticipate a 50% reduction in planned flying programme over the remainder of the summer season, 20% reduction over the winter and back to full planned ops by April. They are retiring the 757’s and cancelling 3 A321’s and 2 738’s they had on order.

5 A321's and 3 B738 won't be taken and 2 B752 which are due for major checks will be retired.

KLM remains daily in July

We're gradually resuming flights to an increasing number of European and intercontinental destinations via Amsterdam. In July, we’ll be offering two daily flights from London Heathrow and Manchester, plus daily departures from: Aberdeen, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Leeds Bradford, London City and Newcastle.

Excluding Loganair, 11 flights today.

6 easyJet, 2 Ryanair, 2 BA, 1 KLM

Including Loganair, the Swift Air freighter, the GAMA King Air Flights and G-EUYH going back to LHR, think it's over 20 flights for the day.
