Yesterday's Stratotanker.
When was the last time Glasgow had a visit from a KC-135?

I would need to check back but USAF KC-135 diverted in from PIK to be followed by crew ferry from Mildenhall

I would have thought that the refuelling hose wouldn't be extended until actually refuelling

Nice, makes a change from the more usual A330.

The KC-135 hose/drogue unit is a an attachment to the standard flying boom, so has no mechanism to retract, the flying boom is lowered in flight to facilitate the HDU being positioned well clear of the tail before refuelling. Interestingly, the USAF KC-135s can have external HDU pods attached to the outer wings, which are able to be retracted.

The French only have 3 KC-135RG remaining in service, so these are becoming super rare.

A400s 54+32 and 54+22 both approaching the Humber, about 10 minutes apart. A321 15+04 now showing on FR24 as cancelled.
