Oh but we are all in this together, travel restrictions, pay cuts, job losses, etc, etc!
It’ll be interesting to see whether Mr Lennon is still in post come the end of January.
Re: Interesting Movements 2020
100% agree. Utter shambles. Given many of their fans and staff are in absolutely no position to travel anywhere due to restrictions and their respective financial situation to see a group of very wealthy young men heading off to Dubai for "training" sticks in the craw somewhat.
Re: Interesting Movements 2020
I agree but plenty other flights going about too, why is the airport even operating if travelling is supposed to be on the naughty list ? "Essential" shops like Halfords still open. Cops going about with no real powers. The whole thing is BS, especially with so many people ignoring health warnings and advice.

Re: Interesting Movements 2020
The airports are open as travel for essential business etc is still allowed
Re: Interesting Movements 2020
Are flights to the Canaries and Swiss ski resorts regarded as essential ? I'm not interested in an argument over this but the hypocrisy over what is regarded as "essential" be it shops, travel or whatever is ever increasingly obvious. Celtic (and Rangers during summer lockdown) probably shouldn't have travelled but at least they stuck to their respective 'bubbles' and entered the airport direct by bus via the West security gate.awwdabaaby wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 10:17 pm The airports are open as travel for essential business etc is still allowed
Re: Interesting Movements 2020
Being honest, and I know this goes against the grain in an airport forum - all airports should be temporarily closed since travelling outwith council borders never mind national and international borders is currently banned.
The only reason travel is banned is because the virus is going totally gangbusters. The graph showing rates of new infections is like something out of science fiction. They are going to need a bigger graph. Only it’s real and it’s deadly.
I’m as desperately to travel as anyone but it’s not allowed right now and it’s certainly not clever to do so.

Re: Interesting Movements 2020
Travel is allowed for essential reasons, therefore flights are operating to accommodate the few passengers that fall into that category. Granted, there must be a large number of business pax flying to Tenerife!
Re: Interesting Movements 2020
Essential reasons: Statement First Minister today 4th Jan 2021 “ And it remains the case – and let me stress this point - that no-one is allowed to travel into or out of Scotland unless it is for an essential purpose” ... There are numerous flights listed on 5th Jan to Spain, Ireland, France, England, UAE and other destinations... The border crossing into and from England is open... This is kiddy on stuff & kiddy on lockdown. Shut the country down in & out, there are more over 79 year olds needing saved ffs .. We will all look back on this and look to the folly of it all, like “It will all be over by Christmas - What a Jolly Jape” infamous crap.southflyer wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 12:13 pm Travel is allowed for essential reasons, therefore flights are operating to accommodate the few passengers that fall into that category.
