It's my understanding that this is for further storage, and that others may also be headed there.
A321 G-MEDF has just departed for Madrid (ATUK you'll recall flying on 'DF on 5 March)

Perhaps this may be the start of better working relations, service and rebuilding faith and trust in a good British company. IMHO smacks of the times Sir Colin Marshall joined from Avis to build a better company than the old adage “ you’re honoured to be on board”.
Possibly... or just more streamlining ? His replacement is simply shifting back to BA after being IAG's 'man in Dublin' for the past couple of years.

A little bit more movement today. EUXJ has been moved to stand 22, presumably awaiting a crew from LHR to come and collect. 'XK was powered up on the APU this afternoon, and control surfaces were being tested by a ground crew. This is the one remaining on Yankee.

Apparently the A321s that have been flown to Madrid, especially the G-MED aircraft will have their exclusive business class removed and be reconfigured, possibly into all Economy

'XC and 'XK both outside the hangar yesterday afternoon, so likely candidates to be the next departures. Six now remaining on 81/82, and three over at 37-40.

G-EUXK departed today to Madrid as BAW9275

The two 'old' A321s which weren't stored at GLA G-EUXI & G-MEDN were positioned from Heathrow to Madrid on 17 Oct & 16 Oct respectively

November schedule has been updated, now showing 5 daily to LHR compared to 7 daily that was being planned. This is still an increase of 1 flight per day compared to current schedule.
