Norway reintroduced a 10 day quarantine for travellers from Spain at midnight. FR24 were tweeting about a SAS and Norwegian flight both flying at max cruise to try and make it back to OSL before midnight to avoid the new quarantine restrictions.

Sounds like England will enforce 14 day quarantine from Spain. Sturgeon will surely have to follow suit

Confirmed that Scottish Gov also reintroducing quarantine from Spain from midnight.

I wonder how many follow up calls or visits to check if the inbound passengers are actually self-isolating have been made recently as Ryanair has been flying to Spain for weeks from EDI, GLA & PIK and were joined by easyJet from EDI recently?
Will any/all airlines now stop flying to Spain and of course Portugal which has always been on the quarantine list?
As I type this RYR7823 is just leaving PIK for Barcelona - now cruising at FL410 so must be near empty

Recent history would suggest Ryanair and (possibly) EasyJet will fly to Spain but that Jet2 and TUI will probably not. Whilst there are opportunities for both to fly to Greece, Italy, Turkey, etc, I wouldn’t be surprised to see bases closed for the rest of the summer or until S21 if Spain is off the cards.

There goes my trip but I’m more saddened for GLA and Jet2 in particular. A crying shame but life and death is more of an imperative.

Sounds like Spain is moving into 2nd wave preparation.
