Fast forward a few years I can see PLAY fold (again) and FI, now an Airbus customer pick up the redundant PLAY aircraft bolstering their Airbus fleet.

No just replacing 757 units with A321neos .. max doesn't have the range and capacity for some of FI's tx ops realistically so not a surprise XLR's where chosen

Just wondering with the volcanic activity going on in Iceland and the possibility it could affect Keflavik airport again. Could we see Glasgow step up again as a temporary hub if required.

For the people of Iceland though I really hope it’s not required but I’d imagine the airline management are having to consider it once again.

I would expect that co tact has already been made shortly after the initial earthquakes and as the experts are predicting a long term potential problem for volcanic eruptions both Icelandair and Play must have a high priority for a “Hub” solution which involves an “In transit area for connecting passengers” at GLA. The last time this happened the passengers were all treated as arriving and departing passengers and having to be processed twice which played havoc with the Icelandair schedule.

Go for a dip in the Blue Lagoon. It’ll be particularly roasting by all accounts. 🔥
