It says not just from Edinburgh but from all their Scottish airports.

Hope GLA are doing everything necessary to get Ryanair back based here.

Agreed, a negotiating ploy

The numbers speak for themselves . . .
Summer 77 routes - EDI 58, PIK 10, GLA 6, ABZ 3 (article states 78 routes - haven't checked if total or detail is wrong)
Winter 55 routes - EDI 45, PIK 5, GLA 4, ABZ 1

GLA, ABZ & PIK are outbound tourism plus higher frequency GLA-DUB and very limited frequency GLA-Poland

I’d like to think there is a market here in Glasgow and the west worth serving as we build back up after Covid. Hopefully Ryanair will too.

Still waiting to hear what’s to become of PIK. That’s a game changer either way.

I'm beginning to think I'll go to my grave wondering what will become of the £1 bargain buy that keeps competition fierce in the West and allow the East to become the MAN of the North? It's all going South.
(managed to reference all four main compass points in one post).

That kinda sums up where GLA sits at the moment. I think that if airlines have to choose where to concentrate as they come back, EDI will take priority. UA will probably consolidate at EDI (initially at least and perhaps beyond) and have fears about Blue Air and Westjet, for example.
