Jetblue plan to launch GLA-JFK
Report in the Sunday Times today seems to confirm Jetblue plans to launch MAN-JFK and more importantly, GLA-JFK, summer only, from 2022.
Aren't we all desperate for good news?

Excellent news, fingers crossed that this comes off. For GLA, and other regional airports, NEOs and Maxes will be the way forward.ontimeexceptacars wrote: ↑Sun Aug 15, 2021 7:32 am Report in the Sunday Times today seems to confirm Jetblue plans to launch MAN-JFK and more importantly, GLA-JFK, summer only, from 2022.

Much needed good news for a change
Re: Jetblue plan to launch GLA-JFK
Jetblue chief used to be the BA gla station manager ... clearly knows what side his bread is buttered ... well done
Re: Jetblue plan to launch GLA-JFK
Really good news if a) it happens and b) it lasts more than one season. Seems a bit negative I know but anything that seems too good to be true with GLA usually is just that, in my experience.

Hate to burst your collective bubbles - that was the 2019 future plan.
2022 plan will see 6 A321LRs in total. 5 will be doing London (LHR and/or LGW from JFK and BOS). 1 will be spare. Deferring deliveries has become an issue as there are NO LR production slots right now to add extras. IF any extra deliveries can be procured at an acceptable cost then things may change. Thats not to say those 2 named destinations are not still under consideration.

Your point? The LRs are fully allocated thru 2022. The article you refer to says that too (5 x daily to London). The 6th one could do 4 MAN 3 GLA or the other way round but would destroy the ability to cover London which is and will continue to be the priority. ETOPS is an expensive proposition to add on another A321 sub type (standard NEOs with smaller mint cabin are coming as well as the LRs - they may end up on Hawaii) or even the 220s so it could be possible if a winter use for such a venture can be found. But as of TODAY there are no aircraft available or planned for a 2022 start. 2023 is a whole other story.Ekally1 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 12:02 amArticle says 15th Aug 2021jetblue497 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 15, 2021 7:51 pm Hate to burst your collective bubbles - that was the 2019 future plan.
