Re EU numbers, we are now down with LIVERPOOL, EAST MIDLANDS, LEEDS BRADFORD & NEWCASTLE in the 200,000 to 250,000 band, less than 50% of BRISTOL which is #8 in the table

That really is an appalling stat. The only way is down it would seem.

Can’t emphasise enough how badly GLA needs a Ryanair base.

Not just FR ... needs to build its portfolio on most sectors ... we are turning into a pik

We've a way to go yet before at PIK levels but I get your sentiment. Clive is correct in that such a seemingly simple fix in dealing in FR would put a million bums on seats per year just with one based aircraft. They said this is what they would do years ago and they did before leaving as all single unit bases were to close. At that point, GLA should have bent over backwards to encourage the base up to two units and therefore staying operational but of course that would require some real hard work and time along with money and AGS don't seem to have any of these commodities.
10/15 years ago I would've been the first in line campaigning to keep FR out of GLA. Now I'm in the front line campaigning to get them here in a meaningful capacity.
I do agree that the airport needs to up it's game across all sectors though. But little steps at first. Deal in FR.
