Routes 22 LAS

An interesting article is on Routes News regarding Nuremberg, Nurnberg in German, (NUE) confirming that it is the best performing airport in Germany regards traffic recovery with new routes and airlines added.
The article states that NUE is actively looking to attract a twinned city service with a range of incentives to be discussed and announced at Routes 22. I flew to NUE some years back on AirBerlin from GLA via STN and know one of its twin cities (town) is Paisley.Ryanair opened a base there this year and Condor started non based services from PMI working off a FRA service on a daily W pattern.
Perhaps there is scope for an FR non based service at least 2/3* weekly?

Back to wild fantasies in here I see. It’ll never happen.

You can but hope but surely this should be something for GLA to work on. It could even act as a catalyst fir something bigger and better.

There's no chance of FR adding an NUE service from GLA. If it's linked to anywhere in Scotland it would be Edinburgh. I'm not sure why this even qualifies for a post in the 'GLA news and discussion' section of the forum.
The LAS in the thread title refers to Las Vegas, where Routes 2022 is to be held in October. Neither AGS nor any of its constituent airports are listed as attendees, whereas EDI and peer airports such as BHX, BFS, EMA, LBA, CWL, NCL and BRS are. AGS's non-attendance is a more worthy subject for 'GLA news and discussion' than some speculative discussion on the most tenuous of connections.

That answers my next thought, hoping that GLA/AGS would be there in force to really try and rebuild relationships with their airline contacts. I guess it means they're happy with the airlines/services we already have, and that growth will come from these carriers.

Quite. There won’t be any meaningful growth until a Ryanair base is established.

And there won't be any Ryanair base until the people in charge do something about it. The fact that GLA aren't even attending Routes tells you all you need to know.

Yes, hopefully! Seemed weird for them not to attend.

Yup.Management team at GLA realised what a jolly to be had in LAS and decided to pitch in. If they come back with anything other than hangovers and huge expenses bills I'll eat my hat.
