Positive possibilities
Given how negative everything seems of late, I thought a thread on the potential positive possibilities for GLA was worth a bash. My top 3 would be as follows,
1) Potential for a Ryanair base
2) Reintroduction of further EK flights/A380
3) Jetblue pitching up at GLA.
All thoughts are welcome.

All more likely at EDI IMHO apart from the A380

Ryanair base is a must.
EK will go either way IMO, A380 at GLA, or stay a 777 and restart daily at EDI. Would pefer to see double daily 777 at GLA though.
JetBlue, I don't see serving Scotland for a few years.

Wny would Ryanair have three bases so close together until demand looks like exceeding supply (#1 supply issue being airport constraints not based airframes)?
Although PIK is making an operating profit the issue of (as most of us on the forum believe) a 'state subsidy' for passenger operations could be a negotiating card to play but it would need to be a 'rock solid case' as I can see SG arguing that you have to take Ryanair's total contribution to PIK on the basis that the passenger operations allow 'no cost' aircraft positioning flights
Best immediate option for GLA is to deal in Ryanair and easyJet and anybody else with non-based sectors but that carries the risk of having to realign the contracts already in place for carriers with bases at GLA - obviously GLA tried it with two carriers on Orly (as did EDI) and that didn't last long
I don't have a warm feeling about Ferrovial & Macquarie - they need EBITDA before refinancing in June 2024 so 'fleece' the current passenger base to meet their banks covenants

I think somebody mentioned in the EDI thread that there now appear to be constraints on first wave deps and last wave arrivals for FR at EDI.

It’s not a constraints it’s spreading the departure times from a 0550 start to 0755 to 0500 onwards easing the passenger flow through security and flatten the peak.
The downside is earlier start times fir check in and gate staff plus a whole new batch of flight numbers to learn!

Uh, ACL and the initial coordination report say otherwise, direct quotes below.
"The hourly terminal constraint was the most constraining factor. Adjustments were made for departures in the 04z and 05z hrs and for Int'l arrivals in the 21z and 22z hrs."
"An increase in demand at peak times from Ryanair resulted in initial demand exceeding terminal limits in the first wave departure peak and the late evening arrival peak"
The word constraint was used twice, useful image also included below that disproves whatever hot water EDI want people to believe, as you can see capacity is being met at security during the morning peak.
