Corona virus and its effects on GLA

Sorry guys I wasn’t too sure where to post this discussion and we don’t really have a thread relating to the hot topic of the moment.
Now that this 14 day quarantine will be coming to the U.K. I don’t mean to be downbeat but I feel it would be realistic to suggest much of the summer 2020 season will be non existent. Perhaps the end of August/September we could see a slightly larger amount of flights.
Only airlines I can see ramping up slightly are perhaps Loganair, EasyJet and BA with U.K. domestic from June onwards. Whilst perhaps Aer Lingus and Ryanair for Ireland.
Touch times ahead indeed!

This would have been one for the old GLA General section but we’ve decided to combine GLA General and GLA News.
The quarantine thing is another Boris nonsense. If anything the quarantine should be in Germany, Italy, Spain, etc for people arriving from UK.
Either way it means travel is not going to happen any time soon.

When they say quarantine what exactly do they mean? Are they to be taken to a hotel under guard, or if they are Scottish residents, who will check they stay at home for 14 days? What does the quarantine actually mean?

Observing government policy on coronavirus this far, it's probably just 'advisory' and they expect inbound visitors to just do the right thing. Perhaps they supply a list of hotels and rental opportunities owned by Tory grandees or party donaters… ?

Saw the KLM emby departing GLA today and I must admit I’ve never been so thrilled at seeing a KLM. I guess my exuberance over such a common event is due to Corona and the scale of the shutdown GLA and the entire industry is seeing. Makes one appreciate the small things.

Amazing how recently it's a great sight to see an aircraft flying when for so many years you took it completely for granted innit?
I stood and watched a BA Airbus depart a couple of days ago. Previously I wouldn't have looked twice.

Coincidentally just as Spain relaxes it's quarantine restrictions on incoming Brits.
