Santorini, Skiathos and Preveza to name three. Although Salonika was a hit or miss from Glasgow it as always in the Newcastle menu. At points both BHX and NCL had a larger Thomas Cook base; thankfully GLA eclipsed them once both 757-300s became GLA based.

I know it’s not the place for an airport to dictate an airline’s route network but it beggars belief that there is no TUI GLA-HER service despite the fact this was flown by AMM, BY, AIH and TCX prior to the mega mergers of First Choice/Thomson and Airtours/Thomas Cook.

Perhaps it’s indicative of high costs at GLA making once popular routes marginal.
TUI the airline just does what TUI the tour operator wants it to.

Probably a lot less than in Scotland, due to being a much smaller place. I suspect most would potentially be viagra related due to the older population 🤣

You seem to think I hate Glasgow. I DO not. I just hate how badly it has gone over the last 10 years (not a Glasgow problem itself, more a society problem). The drugs thing is what people reading the media sees - agreed not just a Glasgow issue but as Scotlands biggest city, will obviously be the worst.

Agreed but for information here is a comparison of GLA (the only Scottish base aircraft) and NCL one of many English regional airports.

PMI GLA 5w NCL daily
IBZ both 3w
MAH GLA 1 w NCL 2w
REU GLA 3w NCL 2 w
ALC both 2w
AGP both 2w
TFS both 5w
LPA both 2w
ACE both 2w
NBE GLA 2w NCL 3w
NAP GLA1w NCL 2 w
DBV both 1 w
BOJ GLA 1w NCL 2 w
HER GLA no flight NCL 2w
CFU GLA 2w NCL 4w
RHO GLA 3w NCL 4 w
KGS GLA no flight NCL 3w
EFL GLA no flight NCL 1 w
ZTH GLA 2 w NCL 3 w
JSI GLA no flight NCL 1w
PFO both 3 weekly
LCA GLA no flight NCL 3w
DLM GLA 3w NCL daily
AYT both 4w
SSH both 2w
HRG GLA no flight NCL 2w
AGA GLA no flight NCL2 w
SID both 1 w
CUN GLA 3w NCL 2 w

The only routes GLA exceeds NCL on are REU and CUN. Although some routes which TUI does not fly from GLA are operated by competitors NCL also has competitors including based FR aircraft.
As previously stated Greece, Turkey and Cyprus all outperform from NCL including many destination which there are no TUI flights from GLA at all.

To demonstrate exactly how far down the pecking order TUI has fallen compared to the combined operations of AMM/BY and AIH/TCX which has reduced to todays lacklustre TUI offering at GLA.

I suspect it’s not all just down to TUI but the lack of incentives, initiative and business acumen of AGS, particularly GLA management.

I suspect TUI and GLA management know how to run their businesses better than any of us.
