I think he means we don’t have to re-highlight it with every single thread. Personally I find it exceptionally tedious and adding a laughing smiley doesn’t help.bill wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 5:20 pmHi Gardner, good post by the way, but can I ask, what's positive about by-passing an 'international' airport that's around 4 miles from where I live to travel 30 miles to another airport just to catch a flight to Milan, Venice, Copenhagen, Stansted (at a decent time of day) and dozens of other examples? I fail to see anything positive in this at all. I just feel like most on here want the imbalance addressed, that's all. We know we'll never have the schedules, destinations, and airlines Edinburgh has. So, Scottish aviation life is really positive if you live in Edinburgh, Fife or The Lothians though, I agree.Gardner wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 12:54 pm
I love all things aviation related and enjoy reading about what is happening at GLA and other airports in the UK, however, I have have been observing this argument across many headings on this forum and I feel it is getting getting stuck in a rut. Is it not really positive that here in Central Scotland we are all around 60-90 minutes away from two airports that offer (mostly daily flights on legacy carriers) to all of the hubs on this list. We have never had such availability and such choice before and accessibility is key. It could be a bit more evenly spread, but like it or lump it, the market always decides and has control of us all...no matter the validity of the argument. Can a more more positive approach about GLA in the wider aviation world and not be trapped in parochial thinking. Aviation is exciting and this forum is in danger of becoming a tad depressing to be honest. Think positive, things will change...they always have done and always will, for better and for worse!![]()
And folks beware - it will take time for the new CEO to get results. This summer is already mapped out. Hopefully by next summer we’ll be able to see some green shoots.
