A contraction in operating bases too according to reports.

Hopefully none of this will effect their expanding GLA base.

I suspect you can forget about expansion in the near future. I would have said that I would fear for smaller bases such as NCL and SEN, but they have recently just signed a new long term deal at NCL, which if they were to break, I would suspect cost them a lot of money.

There's the announced expansion with the fifth aircraft and an assumed (but hitherto unannounced) expansion to a sixth aircraft from August this year, discovered by examination of the schedules.

Their regulatory announcement this morning (http://otp.investis.com/clients/uk/easy ... id=1393257) states "Regarding fiscal Q4 2020 capacity, current plans are that easyJet expects to fly around 30% of the planned capacity flown in Q4 2019." Were aircraft five and six to operate at GLA this coming winter (a period which includes Q4 2020) that would represent a 50% increase in their based capacity at GLA compared to Q4 2019 (when they had only four based aircraft). Some may consider that unlikely, given their intention to operate in Q4 2020 only 30% of the capacity flown in Q4 2019.

The same announcement states "Looking further forward, easyJet expects its year end 2021 fleet size to be at the bottom end of our fleet range at around 302 aircraft, which is 51 aircraft lower than the anticipated fleet size for year end 2021 which was reported to the market prior to Covid-19."

The effect of this announcement may well be to affect "their expanding GLA base".

We’ll see but they have bases all over Europe, some of which might be third tier in their strategic thinking.

FWIW I don’t see them reducing the planned increases to BFS, BHX, etc, as there is a huge hole in the domestic market left by Flybe.

easyJet have rejected a takeover bid from Wizz saying it undervalued the company and are attempting to raise £1.2bn from investors.
